A lot of things have changed with the passage of time. Right from the
way people travel to the modes of travel to what is acceptable as
appropriate costume to wear while traveling. In the olden days, traveling called for bringing out the richest items of wear in our
wardrobe meaning a silk saree or an equivalent of the silk saree for the
lady of the house and a spotless white dhoti and shirt for the man of
the house. If the man of the house was modern enough or perhaps working
in a Western company, he might choose to wear a pant but this was the
norm otherwise. Never mind that traveling for a long time by train or
